The newest additions!

For our breeding plan we had to have another Myotonic buck (you can't just have one or they end up related to all of your does), so we put in a deposit on one before he was born.  Last weekend he was weaned and we finally got to go pick him up!  Meet Kamikaze!

While we were there picking him up we.... accidentally brought home a second kid!!  The brown one is an adorable little doeling named Sandia (Spanish for Watermelon).  Aren't they so adorable??

Sorry some of these pictures are so blurry and please excuse the flash.  It was getting late.  We turned them out with the does and kids to let them settle in.  They cried and cried for their moms.  I hate weaning time!  It's so sad!

Both of the new kids crying...

They settled in fairly quickly though.

 More crying.

We picked out Kamikaze before he was even born because of his breeding, so I had no idea what he would look like.  I was very surprised that he is moonspotted!  Moonspotting in Myotonics is when they have spots of one color on top of the other.  He has several different colored moonspots in his black.  Isn't he cute?  For some reason moonspotting is highly desirable in Myotonics, so I'm not disappointed, but I would still think he was perfect even without them.

Sandia is also a unique color.  I'm not even sure what it is called.  We picked her for her size, conformation and laid back personality, but the color is a nice bonus.  She's the total package!

The new kids meeting B2 (I've finally named him, but I'll share another time).

 Isn't her color so cool?

After they settled in for a few days we decided to go ahead and wean B2 because Zephyr is dropping weight fast nursing her piggie twins.  We moved Kamikaze and B2 into Daniel's pen.  He's used to being a babysitter, so I wasn't worried about them.  It's actually really adorable watching them cuddle up next to him.  Hubby has pictures of them, but I don't have his phone right now so I'll upload them another time.

After a couple of days the boys settled in and got used to the whole weaning idea.  They eat really well.  They get a tiny bit of grain, but mostly eat hay.

Kamikaze was a bit skittish at first, but once he learned how nice scratches feel he turned into a total pet.

Daniel is starting to shed out.  I can't wait to see him in his summer coat.

A good picture of B2 showing how big he has gotten.  He's a nice looking boy!

 So adorable!

Daniel was doing some posing and looking good for the camera.

I love how sweet natured the Myotonic bucks are.

A few more pictures of Sandia because she's adorable.

Zephyr is starting to self wean B1, her doeling.  I'm glad to see she is drinking water well already.

Sandia drinks water well too.  It makes weaning so much easier when they are good eaters and drinkers.

 Speaking of eating.  Yummy hay!

I need to figure out what her color is called.  It's so unique!

Look at how chunky she is already!

I love these two already!  They are going to be great additions to our breeding herd in a few years, but for now (and always) they will be spoiled pets.
