30 Before 30 - #24 Complete!!!
Remember what number 24 is on my 30 before 30 list??? Ride a purebred Friesian!!!!!! My dream came true today! This gorgeous Friesian mare in the above photo is Zajsia! My best friend, who is as Friesian obsessed as I am, has finally realized her lifelong dream of having her very own Friesian!! Zajsia (pronounced Asia with a Z at the beginning) is a seven year old mare who was imported to the states as a foal after her dam died of colic, so she is a bottle baby. Her previous owner is having serious financial problems (due to a child's illness.. so sad), so he had to sell all of his Friesians. She is a bit thin due to a foal who nursed too long and I guess he couldn't afford to feed them as much as they needed. Otherwise she's totally healthy and will be perfect once she puts some weight on. As gorgeous as she is now I can't wait to see her filled out. :D
I'm so happy for my best friend! She has been waiting so long for this. :D And because she's awesome she let me realize one of my dreams! I got to ride her beautiful new mare!! I wasn't wearing a helmet because I didn't bring it with me (hour drive), not knowing I would get to ride. I was only on her for a few minutes, but wow her walk is huge! So much reach. She trotted a couple of strides, but I stopped her because her backbone stands up a bit and hurt bareback LOL! Notice she's in a halter? She's awesome!
Sorry the pictures totally suck. My camera died so my husband was using some tablet thing from work. I'll get better pictures someday when I get to ride her again (after she's put on weight) and I'll wear a helmet next time I promise!!
She is so gorgeous!! Check out the pictures I took below.
She has a lot of knee action at the trot. I love it!
I LOVE this! I love her feathers!
This one is my favorite! She has so much reach behind.
Super trot! I wish it wasn't blurry. It's so hard to photograph a black horse!
I'm so happy for my friend and so thankful she gave me the opportunity to ride this wonderful mare! I will definitely be sharing more about her on my horse blog (http://rdxhorses.blogspot.com) in the future. :D My best friend and I actually call each other aunts to our pets hehe, so I'll definitely be posting more about my niece Zajsia! I was so not expecting to get to check this off my 30 before 30 list, so it was a huge and wonderful surprise. I'm so happy!!!

Snow Day!
We so rarely have snow that the dogs just love it! And I love taking pictures of them playing in it. :D Check them out. Oh and it was only a couple of inches.
He did a perfect sit/stay with me around twenty yards away for the above photo and didn't move until I released him. :D Good boy Jackal!!
I accidentally tilted the camera on this one, but hubby said it makes it look artistic hehe.
This one is cool because it gives you perspective on how small Jackal actually is. He's only nineteen inches tall. :)
Their expressions crack me up!! Storm is looking at Mac like he's crazy for expending so much energy lol. He was flying around like a ping pong ball all over the place. :)
They were playing and stopped to look at me at the exact same time. Cute!
Zoom!
She's shedding like crazy. I need to brush her hehe.
Storm loves the snow!
Also I want to mention that I know how fat Jackal is and I know that it's very unhealthy for them to carry extra weight. He hasn't been getting as much exercise as normal because of my injury and then the weather. I've tried cutting back on how much he's eating, but if I cut back too much he starts throwing up bile because of his empty stomach. I tried giving him pumpkin to make him feel full longer, but he doesn't like it and will only occasionally eat it. I will try to get the weight off of him as soon as the weather clears up. After falling on ice and getting hurt really bad I don't mess around when it's slick outside anymore and it's been uncommonly icy this winter.
