Technical Issues...

I promise I will post about the house building soon.  I have stuff I want to share, but I'm having problems getting my pictures moved from my external drive to my new desktop computer (well it's not new, it's one they were going to throw away at my husband's job so they gave it to him)....... seriously considering going back to the laptop lol!

  1. Does this help? I'm anxious to hear about the house!

Make sure your external hard drive is plugged in to the new machine, then click start and select Computer. You should be able to see your external hard drive listed. Double click on it to open it. Right click on the top level folder containing your pictures and drag it to the Pictures folder on your C drive. Select copy here.

  2. Yeah that's how I'm copying it, but it says it can't read the source. My external drive is running VERY slow too, so I think it's the USB cord isn't supplying enough power. I'm going to have my husband put the hard drive in my computer so I'm accessing it directly instead of through a cord. Keep your fingers crossed!

  3. Hhmmm aggravating. I'm thinking...I've seen that message before, I can't for the life of me remember how I got through it. Cnet has a good website that you can ask questions in their forum and they can troubleshoot with you. I have found it very helpful. CNet.com, if you're interested.
