2016 Reading Challenge

This is just a quick note to let you know that my mom and I have decided to do a 2016 Reading Challenge since we had so much fun with the one last year (link here).  This time we aren't that crazy about the categories they came up with, so we're going to do a different one.  We are going to read a book for each letter of the alphabet, starting with titles, but if that goes quickly we will also do authors (by last name probably).  I will keep track of them on the blog.  You'll be able to read all of the posts here (link).

Hopefully this will make finding books easier.  I got so frustrated last year trying to find books for some of the categories.  I'm still going to try to branch out of my favorite genres and read stuff I normally wouldn't, but it will be much easier to find books for free this way (still broke lol).  I'll do an update post at the end of each month just like last time with a picture, link and my opinion of the book.  Wish us luck!

P.S.  The job is still going great!  I'll update soon on some stuff I've been wanting to tell you guys.  :D

  1. Are you a speed reader? I wish I could do this with you, but I've got so many unread books and have been averaging reading 3 books a year. If you have an e-reader, you can download a lot of free classics.

    1. I don't think I'm a speed reader. I'm pretty fast, but nowhere near as fast as my husband. I just read a lot at night when I'm trying to fall asleep. I don't get interrupted as often as you do either since I only have one dog and it only takes me fifteen minutes once a day to feed the horses. You have a full time job taking care of all of your critters. I wish you could join me on the challenge too. It's a lot of fun. I've already downloaded all of the free classics. I was so excited about that! I've read a lot of them though and I can't reread books for the challenge. :)

  2. Good luck with the challenge! I decided again this year challenge me only with Goodread's challenge and try to read 25 books this year. And it doesn't matter what books they are :D Someday I will try those category challenges!

    1. I saw the Goodread's challenge, but I like some sort of theme. Otherwise I would just read the same books I always read lol. I just didn't like the category challenges this year. Too much nonfiction, political type stuff. I read to escape the real world, so I'm not bringing that kind of stressful stuff into my reading time. :) I thought about making up my own challenge... maybe we should do that next year?? Good luck with your challenge!
