So Sad . . .
I unfortunately had to sell all of my goats for financial reasons. They went to a great home and I get regular email updates from their new owner. I will miss them so much, but I couldn't justify hanging onto them for selfish reasons when I could no longer afford to provide the care they deserve. Aslan is also happy in the new home because he has over two acres to roam freely in a pen that he can't escape so there is no danger of him getting shot like his brother did. This was a very, very difficult decision to make, but I feel like it was for the best.

I am crying too! I loved watching the goats, especially Miss Jasmine. It does sound like they have found a wonderful home and it is great that their new owner is keeping in touch. Nevertheless, must be heartbreaking for you.

It sounds like you made the best of a bad situation. I am glad they got a good home. You were really lucky to find a such a great new owner. Maybe someday you will be able to have goats, again.
ReplyDeleteso sorry to hear about the sale of the goat herd. Me & Mom sure did enjoy updates on Jasmine. Sometimes difficult decisions need to be made for the good of all involved though, and it sounds like Aslan & Jasmine & the rest of the herd have a pretty sweet new pad.

Sending you lots of ((hugs)) must have been a very tough decision to make and I really feel for you xx
ReplyDeleteI feel for you having to give up family because of financial reasons. Been there, done that myself. I've also worried about feeding my horses in hard times, and decided I would trailer my horses somewhere where there was grass if need be. Fortunately, it never got that bad. I don't know why hay has to be so dang expensive. Or even dog food for that matter. We're buying less people food at the market, because prices on so many items have been going up. Ultimately, there's no reason to be in need of the essentials in this country. There's always someone who has something to give. You just have to ask for help, otherwise people won't know.
ReplyDeleteSorry things are hard - sending best wishes.
ReplyDeleteOh boo hoo. I'm so sorry about this. And btw: i'm very sorry about Rip too... I read about it last week. :(
ReplyDeleteWell, hay's gotta make everyone happy, right?
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that! But it sounds like they have gone to a wonderful home - and Aslan too! And it's nice that they will have much more space and possibly more suitable surroundings - I guess we always want what's best for our animals, even if it breaks our heart! :-)
