Four Years

I haven't been feeling very good but do want to mention that four years ago today my husband and I went on our first date. :) I can't believe it's already been four years and yet I can't hardly remember a time when he wasn't there. Unfortunately due to his job we can't celebrate today. I haven't even talked to him yet.

It's been really hot here with a heat index of about 110 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit for over a week now. I've lost several chickens from heat stroke. I finally had a brilliant idea and set up a sprinkler out in the pasture so they can stand under the water or walk around in the cold mud it creates when it runs down the slope. They've been doing much better. We're supposed to get rain soon, but it sure doesn't look like it. Please send rainy thoughts our way lol. We need it. When Chrome walks across the pasture he raises a huge cloud of dust. When he and Zep run and play it looks like a dust storm outside lol.

Anyway I hope all is well with you all and I hope to catch up soon.

Sorry things aren't going better. Hang in there - and take care of yourself first; everything else is secondary!!!

  3. I think that heat would kill your desire to do pretty much of anything regardless of other circumstances. Don't beat yourself up. Hope you catch a break in the weather soon.

As for your four years... wishing you many more! The time goes by so quickly.

  4. Wow, this blog is wonderful! I don't live on a farm but I sure would like to... well, there are many places I'd love to live, but a farm is one of them. This is truly amazing and I'm going to follow as soon as I'm finished commenting!

I was almost about to ask you if you wanted to follow my blog but I understand. I just am happy I ran into yours!

  7. Happy Anniversary (a bit late) and everyone is miserable when it's that hot! I'm so far behind in blogging AND reading that your post makes me feel a bit better that I'm not the only one. Grammy from Corgi Country
