Our Fall Garden

Since we didn't have time to do the spring garden we are making a small fall garden in the front yard. We put down ground cloth to keep weeds from growing and also to hopefully keep the chickens from scratching around in it. This is what it looked like when we first put it together a few weeks ago. Tomorrow I'll show you what it looks like now.

First we put down the ground cloth . . .

Then we cut holes (tedious!) in the cloth and planned out what we're planting where . . .

Then we planted the seeds . . .

Check back tomorrow to see our cute little sprouts!

  1. How interesting. What are you planting this late in the season?

  2. Broccoli (might not produce, but was worth a shot), cabbage, turnips, mustard greens, endive, kale, corn salad, collards, romaine and radichio. We planted about two to three weeks late so I'm keeping my fingers crossed it does okay. I live in the South so it stays warmer later.
