I always thought I was right brain dominant. I don't know why I thought that. I don't remember what I read that brought me to that conclusion, but it's something I've believed for years. Imagine my surprise when I took this quiz and learned that I am actually left brain dominant! You should really try it. It's a lot of fun, very short and easy. I answered seven questions with right brain dominance and eleven with left brain. When you complete the quiz it will give you your totals. After you find out which side you are check out this page to read the differences. It's very interesting. My husband did it too and I was surprised he was right brain dominant. If you have a significant other have them do it too. I'm wondering if this is what they meant when they say opposites attract. :) My mom is left brain dominant and my dad if I were to guess would be right brain. See? Opposites attract. :)
This also explains why I can't seem to write anymore and why I have to be in the right mood to write. The website says when you're in the middle of a project your brain switches dominant sides every ninety minutes (I think I read this correctly lol). So this might explain why when I listen to music I can write pretty well but every other time I get stuck in plot mechanics. The good news is that you can train yourself to use both sides equally. I just have to figure out how. This website didn't explain how to do that. Anyway I thought it was really interesting and would love to see what you all come up with. If you decide to take the quiz please leave a comment and let me know which side you are on. :)
I'm left brain, which isn't a surprise to me. I often feel trapped in the logical, linear, way of thinking.
ReplyDeleteCool! :D I came out as right brained (I answered 14 questions right brained and only 4 left brained!) This possibly explains why I can't stick to just doing one thing and have to have several projects on the go at once!! lol! Plus how I know stuff without really knowing how I know it! Thanks for posting the link :)
