Feeling Better

The cutest dog in the entire world!

My spider bite is healing up way faster than I would have expected. Since the doctor gave me a choice I decided against taking an antibiotic (which make me feel worse than what I'm treating usually). I can't believe how much better it looks. After the research I did when it first happened I'm guessing this is what they call a "dry" bite which means no venom was injected, so I'm thanking my lucky stars lol.

My dad called me this morning to tell me that Aslan's brother Rip got chewed up by a neighbor's dogs. They just about ripped his ear off. He's at the vet right now getting sewn up. Amazingly during it all he's been happy go lucky and calm about the whole ordeal, but it's going to be a huge chunk of money for my parents. I'm so tired of bad stuff happening all the time.

I hadn't mentioned it until now because frankly I'm sick of complaining on my blog. That's not the reason I started it. My husband hurt his back a week ago and it's not getting better so he has to have an MRI on Monday. The doctor suspects a slipped disc. I'm hoping it's something minor. Money is really tight right now because he's on temporary disability from work for now. I don't know how long it will be.

I've been having to take care of all of the animals, doing all the household chores and cooking, working, etc by myself because my husband literally can't do anything. Carrying the basket of eggs from the hen house to the house is about all he can manage before he has to sit back down. So it's been a stressful week. I'm going to spend some time with my friends tonight because I really need a break from everything. Anyway that's an update on what's going on. Sorry it's mostly complaining lol. I feel bad for doing that because I would like my blog to be upbeat and positive. :-/

  1. Sometimes it helps to get it out of your system! Take me, for instance. I am all things sweet and loving. But SOMETIMES I have to yell at Dave. Hee hee hee!
I'm glad you're feeling better and we'll all say a prayer for your husband!

  2. I think sometimes it's good to just take a deep breath and realize all the other people in the world that are so much worse off than us. I know I do that when the pity party get's too deep up in the Sweet house!

Good luck to hubby and Rip.

  3. (((hugs))) It so often seems to be the way that several things all seem to go wrong at once. Don't feel bad for complaining, we all need to do it from time to time. Really hope things get better for you all very soon xx

  4. I hear you! That is part of the reason why I let Mango do the talking on the blog. Lots of times I have been feeling very overwhelmed by stuff but on the blog, Mango speaks and he is not inclined to get depressed or complain (well, except about Dexter). Just trying to see things through the eyes of Mango helps my brain a bit.

Taking a deep breath helps, but it is natural to suffer from whatever ills you can afford to. Just part of being human. It could always be worse and most of us have quality problems compared to the rest of the world. Doesn't make it sting any less.

  5. Mango's Mom is very wise. Sometimes we do have to vent, and once in a while just shows that you are human too, just like the rest of us. Bad things happen and we just have to work through them.

Sometimes I just have to go out with my horses or my dogs and sit (I have back problems too) out in the pasture or under a tree (depending on the weather) and talk to them and take time to breath and pray, and other times, I just have to go to bed and it usually looks at least a bit better when I wake up after my nap...

Sometimes, I put on music that lifts my mood... I am praying for you and your hubby. I know exactly what he's going through, and the pain is very difficult to take after it's been going on for quite some time.
