Fishing Fun!

Even though my husband and I had a lot to do yesterday evening I decided I didn't care. We so rarely get to spend quality time together that I decided that was more important. So we backed the pickup to one of the ponds on the lease land and had a picnic while we fished. It was so much fun! It's been so long since I've just forgotten about everything that needs doing and had some fun. The temperature was perfect last night and the bugs weren't bad at all. I only got one mosquito bite when normally I'm covered in them. I caught three bass and five bream. My husband was too busy catching grasshoppers for me, taking the fish off the hook and rebaiting to do much fishing himself, but when I got bored he took over and caught a bass and a few more bream. We put all but two of the bass back in the pond to keep growing and reproducing.

Chrome and Zep were curious and spent some time hanging around nearby, but they thankfully didn't make pests of themselves. I was worried they'd be all in everything like my ponies were when I was a kid, but they behaved themselves and were pleasant company.

Do you feel like you're being watched?

Yep! It's Chrome.

Chrome had to check out the five gallon bucket we were using to hold the fish we were keeping. He had a long drink of the pond water, but never even noticed the fish. There was even one on the ground next to him that had jumped out of the bucket, but it didn't flop around while he was there so he didn't notice. :)

Mmm . . . yummy pond water. :)

See how much the bream is bending my pole?

The reason he's wearing latex gloves in these last two pictures is because he was handling food when he wasn't busy taking fish off my hook lol.

Anyway I had a lot of fun. Just thought I would share. :)

  1. Sounds great, it's always important to make time for fun, quality time. I think when you have lots of animals sometimes you spend so much time doing those jobs it's easy to neglect yourself. How cool to have Chrome's company for fishing! :D

I just wanted to reply to your comment about procrastinating that you put on Star's blog. I have exactly the same problem in that I sometimes talk myself out of doing stuff because I think I will get it wrong. I've been doing this for a month with Corel painter X. Even though I have a new computer I have mentally convinced myself I will muck up and not be able to use it. So I know exactly what you mean about training Chrome, and I've done it with Star too. I *try* to tell myself nothing ventured, nothing gained now before my mind talks me out of it, as no mistake should really be that undo-able! It's not always easy though, lol!
