My *new* Wintec Saddle!!

One of my friends from the vet clinic where I used to work (she no longer works there either) gave me a saddle that was given to her because she didn't need it! I'm so excited because I'd just been talking to my husband about needing a saddle. It's a brown synthetic Wintec All Purpose English saddle. We think it's a 2000 model.

It's in really great condition. It's dusty and the inner flaps curl a little, but that's no problem. :)

It has the easy change gullet system so I will be able to adjust it as Chrome grows and changes. :) It came with a bunch of stuff . . .

A girth, that is entirely too long lol, so I'll have to get a shorter one. :)

It came with not one . . .

. . . not two . . .

. . . but THREE saddle pads!!!!

It came with three sets of stirrups.

A bridle headstall and reins. The only thing missing is a bit, but that's okay. I'm thinking of getting a bitless bridle when the time comes for him to wear a bridle. The guy who gave it to my friend sealed it in those food saver bags so it's in great condition.

And last but not least a breast collar.

I'm so excited. I never could have hoped to afford all of this, much less get it for free! I have a really wonderful, caring friend. :)

  1. Wow! You hit the jackpot! Don't plan on getting a new girth right away--he may not need it if he keeps growing like he is! What are you going to do with all the stirrups? They never seem to wear out.

You asked how tall I am. I'm 5'6" Cole makes me look taller and thinner. There is an advantage to short and fat horses.

  2. That is so brilliant! I have the exact same saddle I used to use with Star. The gullet change was ideal for her as she changes shape through the year. I just added a suede seat saver over the top so it was less slippy, I need a grippy bum, lol!! I think you'll love it, what a cool friend to have.

Thanks for your offer of the turkey pics, that is lovely. I've put my email under your comment on my post :)

  3. How cool!

Wintec makes nice saddles. I like the wintec dressage saddles that I've ridden in in the past.

I'm sure you and chrome will enjoy it!
