Jackal's Bath & Bring on NaNo

Okay, I have been meaning to give Jackal a bath for a while! He's was smelling so bad you couldn't even hug him. I could smell him from the other end of the couch. Needless to say this was making my couch cover stink and the house stink and the dog bed stink. Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a wee bit. He did stink though and that's the point I'm trying to get across lol.

I finally gave him a bath today. Since I had fun yesterday I decided to make today all about cleaning house, doing chores and writing for NaNo. I'm scattering it all out to make it more bearable. So far I've already written four thousand words, brushed both dogs, bathed Jackal, changed the sheets and couch cover, washed my shower curtain and liner, cleaned out my utility room (the reason there are boxes and detergent bottles in my pictures), folded laundry, washed laundry (I'm almost caught up!), washed dishes, washed the dog beds and edited the pictures for this post. Last night I clipped the dogs' nails, dumped and refilled all of the animals water troughs and cut my husband's hair (I just basically buzz cut it with a pair of clippers). Busy, busy, busy.

I still have a lot to do though. I really wanted to clean out the feed shed, wash Chrome's mane, put together my tack room shelf, take out the window air conditioner units in the house for the winter, clean the dogs' ears, vacuum and clean the bathroom (which will get done today because it must get done every week - can't handle a dirty bathroom). I also want to get more video footage of the training I'm doing for my end video that I'm making. I still have more laundry to do. And I still want to write more. I did NaNo in fourteen days last year and I'd like to see how fast I can do it this year. If I make good progress I might set a new goal, such as 100k words in 30 days. We will see. :)

So without further ado, here are the pictures after Jackal's bath.

After drying out he's all soft and fluffy and cuddly again.

He proceeded to give himself a second bath . . . with his tongue.

Even reaching around to lick his back. Flexible!

Gotta get the paws.

I like his expression here. I caught his head in mid-turn and his ears were floating lol.

Reaching the backs of his legs. Look at those cute pointed ears!
I should teach him the handstand lol.

Licking the chest again.

So now we're both happy. I'm happy because he doesn't stink anymore and he's happy because he's covered in his saliva . . . ick. :D Gotta love dogs.

I'm going to try to continue to visit everyone, but I can't make any promises. I have a feeling I'll be marking a lot of blog posts as read in my Google Reader during November. If I finish early and decide not to make it longer I'll catch up then lol. I only have to write 1666 words a day to make it in time and I'm already way ahead today. I hope everyone else will keep us posted on their NaNos. I'm going to try to get a word counter gadget for my sidebar.

And since there is a possibility I might not post much this month, I'll see you all in December!!

  1. I love Jackal's pointed ears :)
Whenever I give my dog a bath, he goes insane if we don't put him in his crate. He runs around and around in circles all over my yard (well he does that anyways). It's amusing to watch.

  2. Oh my God - Nano has started?! EEEEEEEeeeeek!! I haven't written a single word yet! Maybe I need to take a leaf out of your book and do less blog stuff - I seem to spend all my free time on Honey's blog or catching up with her blog friends!!!
